The City stretched on slopes of a high hilly plateau, limited to pools of the rivers Santa Anna and San Byadgo, towers in the middle of delightful landscape above the Valley of Temples, nearly from southern coast. Owing to the advantages of the unusual soft climate favorable even during the most severe season of year and magnificent landscape, the city became a popular resort of Sicily, and also the largest archeological and cultural center of international importance. In a heat of a winter season all Valley of Temples rolls in a cloud blossoming almonds which is accompanied by carnival processions, folklore games and representations. Here always it is a lot of tourists from Italy and from all over the world.
